Carrot Processor in Germany
For a German carrot processor, Taneco delivered a WWT50 installation for treating wash water with a capacity of 50 m³/hour. The processing line handles approximately 30 tons of carrots per hour, making efficient removal of sand and sludge essential. The installation was assembled on-site in just two days and became operational within a week.
The process begins with sand separation using a rubber-lined cyclone, after which the discharged material is dewatered on a dewatering screen. Next, a dry solids measurement enables the automatic dosing of polymer, ensuring optimal settling in the sludge settling tank. The thickened sludge is then further dewatered using a screw press.
This integrated setup results in a robust and sustainable solution, in which process water can be effectively recovered and reused — achieving significant water savings.
