In Finland, Taneco supplied a Mud Separator for the treatment of wash water at a carrot processing facility. The Mud Separator is equipped with lamella plates that create additional surface area, allowing heavier particles to settle in a controlled manner.

Pressure sensors at the bottom of the cone continuously measure pressure differences within the installation. When these values indicate that sufficient sludge has accumulated, the discharge valve at the bottom automatically opens. This ensures reliable and low-maintenance removal of the settled material.
